Layovers and leftovers in Addis Ababa

It’s my first time in Addis Ababa. I truly arrived here by accident, on my way to Cape Town, on a long multi-connection flight from Nashville. To no surprise, a delay caused a missed connection leaving me spending two nights in Ethiopia, a country I’ve always wanted to visit! I discovered a couple of things during my stay. First, a great charitable hospital: http://hamlinfistula.org/contact/. I was informed of the works going on by a fellow American traveler. Although I was unable to visit, the website speaks to the power of compassion, a small reminder that we are one another’s keeper.

The other is the food here is amazing! Similar to what’s available at Ethiopian restaurants in the US but better fresher…yummy.

My lunch compliments of the hotel. Believe me, it was good.
